Finally, the blog, the production…
The producers of my play, New Writing North, have asked me to keep a blog/diary about the experience of having my play Pub Quiz go into production. So here I am clutching a few hand written diary notes which I have to update and wondering how all this technology works, more than anything I hope there is a spell checker. It’s taken four years from the initial commission to a tour so as with most things I have come to the blogging about the experience late. I hope it it will be an interesting and honest account though as I have to use my real name in order for the blog to be linked to Pub Quiz publicity, I cannot hide any of my usual unpleasantnesses and odd outburst behind an online identity. If I enjoy blogging I could always come back at a later date, protected by my anonymity and let rip about the many disappointments, rare joys and frustrations of being a jobbing writer looking for the next break. But for now I will focus on my play being brought to life by the talented Pub Quiz team and watching it being cajoled off the page and onto the stage.
